Hi Everyone,

The cabinet I'm looking at is a half back metal grill with C90s on top and most likely the VS-12 50 watt on the bottom. I play a ton of hard rock and metal, although some cleans and other stuff so I like versatility. I'd like to get folks opinions on this combo of speakers and the half back cabinet, especially for heavier music. I have no problem replacing the bottom speakers if I need to either, but would like to give the VS-12's a shot and know what I'm getting in to.

Thanks!
Jeff

That's an Eminence speaker. Kind of unremarkable and dull sounding, in my opinion. Fine for taming a bright amp. If you generally prefer Celestions, you'll probably feel the same.

Thanks Snave. My ears are definitely tuned to Celestions =D. Just years of use. I know the cabinet itself is fantastic, and I'm not opposed to putting some V30s or even H75 Creambacks in there.

If they have 8 screws like EVs they could be MS 12s, they are nice. But they could be all C90s, VS 12, even G12 65s from what I’ve read. Unless you can see the magnets of course, then you know what they are.
Great cabs though.
