Opinions On Sommatone Amps

What do you guys think of Sommatone amps? I’m mainly curious about the Roaring 40 and Overdrive model. I’ve only tried their Outlaw model and wasn’t crazy about it, but I know his other models are supposed to be quite different

Not sure about the amps themselves but the guy running the company is a great dude. He used to live in NJ and did some work on some amps and guitars I brought and always was quick and did a great job.

GREAT dudes and amps.

I live near them for 30 years, often in the shop. They do custom. For me they were the first boutique custom shop i ever encountered.

Nergal of Behemoth has the kt88 high gain outlaw head, damn thing KILLED. It is mixed with diezel on Evangelion.

I know its not your tone but his other vintage amps are as good.

As good as any other boutique heads. Try one.

Jimmy is a great guy. He's done a lot of good work for me over the years though I don't recall trying his amps. His work is very meticulous I would highly recommend him as a tech for sure.

Brought an amp there for servicing once when he was still in NJ, excellent attention to detail and a very friendly guy. I did not get a chance to play through any amps, but they seem pretty great based on clips.
