The other morning I saw something on the news about how Orange County processes the sewer water back into drinking water due to water shortage?

How does it taste? I would have though they would have installed desalizination plants like in the middle east before doing something like that.

There are still people that drink tap water?

By the way, source?

It all comes around eventually anyway. If it's sufficiently treated, I don't see a problem with it...

It was Tues morning on Fox and Friends

Some lady had it on in the gym downstairs in our office building when I was trying to sneak a morning workout in.

Hmmm, can't find it on the fox news site. Oh well.

I was a certified water treatment plant operator. If you would have seen the way water is treated and all the stages it goes through, you definately would never drink tap water. Waste water actually has higher standards as far as the process goes. Most of the potable water we use in s.Cali comes from the Colorado river by Metropolitan Water district. They sell the water to most cities, also some cities pump from under water aquifers within there own city. I personally have been drinking bottled water for the last 9 years. As far as desalinization goes, it is a very exspensive process and would be very expensive to the consumer. Unfortunately for some of the cities along the beach, desalinization is something that was or is in the process. $$$$$$$

Aside from just becoming tired of the chemical, nasty tasted, I did some research back in about 1984 that led me to stop drinking tap water.

I will say this... Last time I was out in Anaheim, I almost got sick at the taste of the tap water. I was used to ours back here in BR... Then I find out from some of my friends that were newly pregnant and at the doctor... we've got something like the second best tap water in the nation.

We can't run schools... but we can make good water.

Your Brita is fine. It will help to remove all of the suspendid solids in your water. Reverse osmosis is the way to go. Just think, chlorine and flouride are in our tap water and both of these chemicals can kill you.

Our water has more fluoride than normal. It stained someone I know's teeth when they were little. Nasty stuff. :aww:

I have a Brita filter here at home, but i still drink bottled water the most. The water filtered with the Brita tastes pretty good though. our tap water supply varies throughout the year. Sometimes it gets rank and looks dirty and othertimes it seems ok. I still wouldnt drink direct from the tap though ever.

Well the water in Vancouver got fairly turbid whenever there was heavy rain for long periods of time, but was mostly just aesthetically bad, it was safe to drink. Come to think of it I ate at some mexican place in Fullerton awhile back and the water tasted real funny. So it was teh treated sewage, huh? :aww:

When the water goes a bit bad here, it goes a bit sorta frothy on top. Almost like the head on a beer. Which as you can imagine, on a glass of water isnt that nice to drink. Only occasionally in the summer it gets like that though!

:D Man its rough. Luckily that only happens a few times a year or sometimes not at all. I remember about 3-4years ago though, it was like it for 2weeks.. It put me off tap water for life haha!! :D

I have a hand dug well at around 75 feet deep and a spring feed well at 120 feet. The hand dug is under my kitchen but we don't use it due to possible septic issues etc. The 120 is the best water I ever had. Makes a mean cup of coffee. I had it tested when we bought our house 20 years ago but never since then. City water taste bad to me and I will go for the bottled stuff on the road and in town.

as long as there's nothing like radiation in the water, and ALL the shit is cleared out then i guess nothing is wrong with it...
