I have a old .01 orange cap from an organ amp. It's 600 DC and 10%. Would I be able to use it with a tone pot? Also anybody know how to measure a cap? It has a bunch of bumblebee caps it too I think.

How's this mod done? Also it's an old cap fom an tube amp off an organ. Will it have degraded over time and if so would it cut off more or less treble?jerrydyer":rpoicfkj said:you can use it. the voltage just means its way overated for the use but it will work. me too Jerry. i have found with most humbuckers i like anywhere from 270pf to 470pf.
pickup dependent of course....

dimarzio usually includes a little diagram in the container a pick up comes in
tradionally its a 220k and a 250 pf cap piggybacked from in to out of the volume pot. easy to google for a diagram too. if i were computer savi id pop it up. but since im not I have to go find it , print it , scan it, post it to photobucket then attach it to my message her. "Aint noone got time for dat" I gotta go get me a cold pop.

Yup more worried about safety. Didn't want to blow a pot and I'm a noob with electronic so I thougth I'd ask the fellas here. Thanks for the treble bleed input too. I looked at some schematics but I wanted a second opinion from people who have actually done it, as there is a few different options.yeti":17kz2yz0 said:Giga":17kz2yz0 said:Just soldering it in and trying would've taken less time than posting a thread about it ?![]()

i think he was more worried about if he could safely do it or not.
