Ordered some JJ's for my Rivera KR55.. What should I expect?

Hi,

I just ordered the eurotubes tube kit for my rivera knucklehead reverb 55,
it comes with 5 ecc83s preamp tubes and 2 e34l's.

I wanted to take out the grit and harsh highs on the rivera and darken it abit,
also wanted to emphasise the low mids frequency and give it a ballsier heavy sound
with the el34 crunch.

I was advised by bob to get that kit, anyone experinced some JJ's in rivera amps here,
or swapped to JJ's from other tubes?

I have the sovtek el34wxt and sovtek 12ax7A in it right now, replaced V1 with an ecc83 cz
by TAD and suddenly the amp smoothed out abit and had a more pleasing rhythmlead tones to my ears, I think I really have those sovteks.

Dude buy a couple mullard NOS and some 6l6gc for that sucker and that will mellow out the highs,,I loved my kr's wish I wouldnt have gassed some much and kept all of them,,only bother was the headmaster was kind of a pain,,You can put ^L^GC in there call rivera and ask paul if you are worried..

The only thing I like JJ pre tubes is for mellowing a harsh amp, so they may work out well for you in that amp. Sometimes they change the characteristic too much for me, but sometimes they work magic. In most amps I don't like them however.
