Ordering a Splawn Quick Rod soon ... but stuck on cosmetics!

Posted this over at HCAF as well.

Well, my second cab will be here soon and I have been trying to decide what I want my head to look like. I WAS going to go with the JCM800 headshell with large check on the baffle and white chassis. The problem with the Splawn stuff is that they hav TOO MANY DAMN OPTIONS!!!!

I really like some of the other headshell styles so I have decided to go a little more "ornate" and these are what I am choosing between.

Let us all remember, different strokes for different folks and keep in mind, I did not spend more than 15 minutes or so editing each of these. ore for ideas than anything else.

I may do the dual stripes with the "V" shaped cut out instead of the rectangular. It's hard to not do the safe look with the Marshall Plexi style being that I went with the large check grill. I think the cloth has that "grandma's couch" kind of feel so I like a little more retro-like look for the head as well.

I'm not a big fan of tweed and you have a lot of it going on there. Nonetheless, on all of the striped ones it seems to me like the vintage vibe of the tweed clashes with the bold and brash nature racing stripes. If any of those I'd say #4, but try it with a clear panel. I'm a sucker for those. You can put neat lights in them too.

I like the clear panel/LED thing as well.
 
Go op 5 but with plexi style keep it simple you'll be happier for a long long time!!

Out of the options you posted I would go with either 5 or 6 as I never liked the splawn head shells with the v cutout. I have to say that I think that the traditional plexi type headshell is best looking and after all, this company got its start on modding Marshall's. I would probably get the large check cab and loose the chicken head knobs in favor of Marshall style ones.

Those are my cabs. The heads I just mocked up to see what would look good. I was thinking the same thing about the knobs for option 6. Gotta find a good pic to pull the control panel from.
