Ordinarily, I don't' really care for "relic" guitars, but...

I'm a serious believer in thinner, nitro finishes (although as I understand it, the thinner finish has more to do with the more resonant tone than the actual nitro lacquer itself) since I bought my EJ Strat a couple of years ago, and I've been GASing for a maple-neck, Floyd-equipped Charvel forever now, and seeing as these come in every level of "relic-dom" from closet classic to heavy relic and come in pretty much any of the vintage Fender finishes (I'm thinking maybe a Lake Placid Blue or Burgundy Mist in closet classic trim), and are supposed to be totally customizable (a good thing since the one problem I have with it is that I want 22 frets!), one of these just might prove to be the ultimate super-strat! Whattaya think, anyone here own/played one of these before?

They're not cheap, though. They come in right at $3K!

Sounds pretty good in this vid, anyway...

I like them, but the funny thing is that, to my knowledge, Charvel never made nitro finished guitars back in the 80's. So the nitro relics are impossible.

Well, OK, so they're "borrowing" a little mojo from their parent company with these, both with the finish and the headstock, who can blame 'em?!

I like my stuff to look good. Car, motorcyle chrome, guns, guitars..... Buying something that has been made to look roughed up is not doing it for me. A store around here has aged Nashville strats. Greast guitars but seems cheesy. Like the kid that gets '5.0' from a set of mailbox stickers and slaps it on the side of his 4 banger 1992 mustang..... so it looks like the V8. (probably blasting vanilla ice).

Ordinarily, I'd agree, and the guitars I posted were all of the more "reliced" variety, but closet classics I actually dig, no scuffs, worn-through finish, dings or chips, just aged hardware and some finish checking. Still, it's not for everybody.

I think they look great.
I'm not one for pristine and shiny stuff. (Unless it's electronics, or amps, I like those to be clean)

Even if I don't agree with what you say, I can always enjoy a good look at that icon... She looks quite clean and pristine.
