Gee, now that nu-metal is officially dead, Finger 11 drops the Limp Bizkit-isms and goes for the trendy Franz Ferdinand (sp?) sound. How original. They suck.

Ummm... Finger Eleven was never nu-metal. Very good melodic modern rock.
 
i don't think they're were really new metal. their 2nd album Greyest of Blue Skies had some of that, but they've had a spacey ambience on that album that overshadowed it on most of the songs. to me that separated them from that genre. their last album was far from anything remotely NU-metal. it was very stripped down. they've not ever sounded like Limp Biscuit, since they've been with Wind Up - you being from Canada maybe know what they sounded like before getting signed.

that said, i was quite disappointed when i heard this new song. but, whatever, if thats the direction they wanna go, its their choice. i can't say i'll buy this one.
 
One of my best friends used to bang their drummer. She had all sorts of crazy stories....
 
They're from my hometown, they're good...sounds alot like Led Zep's 'Trampled Under Foot' no? :o

I really prefer Tip to anything that they've done since then. I can't understand how anyone can say that they were ever Nu-metal though. They're just a hard rock band.
 
i'd like to hear the rest of the CD. to see what its like. in a weird way, this song is starting to become like some kinda fatal accident or something to me. i don't like it. but i've listened to it twice in a row. just listening to whats going on from musicians perspective. its kinda got some cool little weird stuff in there.

i really connected with the music on Tip. i have always liked these guys since that album dropped. so when i hear something new from them, i usually don't like it much.
i still don't like this much. i predict if marketed right, it could make them huge. this could fit on your average pop radio station, as well as rock stations. its got that groove that you almost can't resist. its got great hook and all the right pieces. this song will be a hit in clubs and bars. the chorus will have the single people hookin' that shit up.

this is the first i've actually heard them as the RBMs - ok, so they've had that funk kinda groove early on, so this is sort of a return to that, but different.
