I'm really trying to stop drinking Coke everyday. I know the best solution is the just drink water, but i really can't just stick to water. I do drink a decent amount of water now but i need something with some taste with my lunch. Gatorade has less sugar and carbs than soda but it's still probably not a good thing to drink everyday.

I tried seltzer water but didn't like it too much. Diet soda tastes like battery acid to me, and that Coke Zero stuff is pretty nasty. I tried some stuff called Propel Fit Water, it's made by Gatorade. But a 17 ounce bottle has only 20 calories, 5g of sugar and 4g of carbs. That a hell of lot less than Coke or Gatorade and it doesn't taste that bad either. But the second indregiant listed is Sucrose Syrup. But it still says it has low sugar.

I tried some of those Fruit20's. They're ok, wierd aftertaste. And i was suprised by some flavored water i bought in Pathmark. It's carbonated, no sugar at all and tastes good. I think it has nutrasweet though.

Well, is anyone an expert on this subject. I guess i am better off reading the labels and trying to really cut down on soda.

Oh well, it's Friday. Time to go suck down a bunch of beers.

green or white tea, and use honey and lemon as a sweetener. better for you, and you can wean yourself off of sweeteners so eventually you dont need them at all

Coke Zero. Dude - it tastes exactly like real corn-sweetened coke and has no calories and no sugar. You won't be able to tell the difference in a blind taste test. Try it!

The "zero" products (Coke Zero, Sprite Zero) are made with Splenda. They taste pretty good.

Really? I thought Coke Zero was nasty, just slighty better than Diet. Maybe I'll try it again.

Sam's Choice Clear American "water" is good. Great flavors.

what about watering down iced tea? or just plain tea?

Right on Dave. I drink unsweetened tea everyday.

Cut out soda as part of my diet. I've lost 60lbs in 7 months

Get used to drinking water plain and simple. I hate drinking water but you get used to it after a while. I drink unsweetened teas and iced coffee when I want something with flavor

Now with that said, if you still need some flavor, find yourself some green tea like Tom said and use honey.

DO NOT DRINK ANYTHING WITH ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS.

When I had cancer I was told by the top renal specialist in the world to stay away from artificial sweeteners including splenda. I used to drink a 6pack a day of diet soda before I got kidney cancer, now I drink none.

If you don't like honey and you need a sweetener, stevia is the only way to go. Its a south american herb, sweet as hell and tastes great and has no side effects. Its 30 times sweeter the sugar and its been used by the Indians of Paraguay for hundreds of years.

I drink this sweet tea I buy at the grocery store...comes in a gallon jug. Only 30 calories per serving, sweetened with cane sugar. It's not real sweet, just a hint. It's ok, but there is no substitute for the real Coke....I have it as a treat every now and then...so good.

Oh, and fuck Pepsi. :bleh:

Thanks for all the advice guys. Breaking the soda habit it tougher than it seems. I forgot to mention i tried something called Honest Tea. It's all natural, no sweetners or sugar. But it's $1.50 for a small bottle.

I love Diet Green Tea w/ citrus--it tastes great and is good for ya. Also, I do like Coke Zero a lot and now that I've drank enough, I think about all diet pop tastes fine.

If I could have only one non-water beverage it would probably be sweet tea. I can't stand any bottled ones that I've ever tried, though. Gotta suck it up and take the 5 minutes to brew it.

ps - I'd bet eleventy billion dollars that I could tell Coke Zero from regular Coke in a blind taste test, every time...

Yeah, it's not exactly the same, but Coke Zero is pretty damn close, and the other one, C2, was pretty good (not sure if they make it anymore).

Anyone ever have Coke Blak? It was like Coke and coffee mixed....not bad.

Coffee the true drink for a musician. Brown life sustaining liquid. What a working man needs.

Tea. Good ones. Water of course--you need water. But when you want something with flavor, tea is there.

If you've never had teas like on this site:

http://www.teavana.com/

You may want to check out a local tea shop. You don't know what you're missing.

I agree with whoever said you get used to plain water after a while.

I quit drinking soda's once just to see if I could.. and I drank just water. I got used to it after a while.

Ratter - Maybe you could, but when I was in high school we did a joke Pepsi challenge thing, but we just put Coke in both "test" cups. Not one person said they were the same and each person picked one as Coke and one as Pepsi, even though they were both Coke. Not very scientific, but you get my point...

I dig Coke Blak. Had some in the Paris airport before they had it here...
