Since I've been re-doing some pedalboard stuff to eliminate noise, I'm now replacing my outlet strip & extension cord that travels with me. Am I missing anything special out there?...

Furman SS-B6? It's $40, so not terribly cheap for what it is, but not too bad, either. What I like about it is the 15' cord and the outlets are spaced far enough apart for most AC adapters. It's got some filtering and surge protection, and it's metal, not plastic. I've been using them for a number of years and have been really happy with them.
