Now I usually listen to all Ozzy albums in order once or twice a year . This time I decided to every release he had in order from Sabbath until the end including all live albums . I’m on Scream and I must say other than usually modern radio chorus’s the rest of the songs and Gus Gs playing is pretty good . If you never listened to it Gus is great on it . This sounds like the producer wanted a Killswitch type song

He was awesome on the first couple of Dream Evil records, I still jam those. When I think of Gus G that’s always the first that come to mind since that is where I first heard him and I wore the Evilized and Dragonslayer out.

When I saw them on the Scream tour they played 2 and a half hours, something like 24 songs if I remember right. I think 7 Sabbath songs. Gus was fantastic, reminded me a lot of Jake.

This is my favorite Ozzy release (also likely because I'm burned out on all the earlier releases). It sounds like Zakk wrote a lot of the riffs and Gus's execution is so precise and his interpretation so inspiring. The Blackstar sound is surprisingly different and fierce, pairing so well with the Mesa bass amp. Ozzy lets out some of his most guttural screams. so awesome. Ends with that I love you so much song to the fans.

I also just realized there are some bonus tracks that I never heard before!

Gus blended his blackstar with a jcm 800 for his tone on the album . Cool mix

All of his solos are sick! I need to practice more but I'm fighting father time lol
Yeah, I know the feeling, especially the speedier gallop/skip picking, Jon Schaffer/Hetfield rhythm ferocity gets tougher for me. Used to be second nature, but I'm 55 now. It's not as easy as it used to be!
