Howdy gents!
It is with great pleasure that I can finally announce that I am now the proud owner of an online music store. I have wanted to do something like this for many years now, so I decided to take the plunge and now the ball is finally rolling.

Enter, Mod Squad Music!

So what the hell is Mod Squad Music? Mod Squad Music will be my take on what I think a music store should be. I will be offering products from major manufacturers as well as some very cool and unique items that have been developed exclusively for Mod Squad Music as well as some exclusive custom amplifier modifications. What this means is that customers will have the option to either purchase a stock product or one that has been modified.

MSM is currently an authorized Marshall Amplification, Celestion, and Fortin Amplification dealer. I am currently working on adding more manufacturers to the list as we speak.

As for the modded verses stock amplifiers, the premise behind this is to take amplifiers that I know and love and tweak them a bit. I currently have in my possession a Fortin modded Marshall JVM210H and a Fortin modded Kerry King 2203KK Marshall. Mike Fortin has come up with some killer modification for these 2 amplifiers and I am blown away by the results. So what’s the difference between the stock version and modded one?
The JVM mod adds more gain on tap to each of the channels and the preamp section has been totally reworked. The stock JVM still has an amazing sound but IMHO Mike’s mod has opened up the amp more, added more clarity to the preamp section and like I said before, there is more gain on tap in each of the modes. I’ve been using one of these amps for my 80’s cover band and a Journey tribute band and I could not be happier.

The 2203KK Kerry King mod is a MONSTER. Like the JVM, the preamp section has been reworked. Mike added gain on the normal section and he added even more gain when the boost section is engaged. The amp is a flame thrower and if you are into the thrashy type sounds, this amp will make you smile! The amp works exactly like the stock version but it has WAY and I mean WAY more gain and balls.

Just for giggles, here are a few clips that our resident recording wizard Greg T.(lolzgreg) has done for me! Just a word about these clips….yes they have been produced to show what these amps can do but there is no BULLSHIT going on. The only studio magic used on these clips besides Greg’s amazing ear is that there was high/low pass filter used and that’s it. I will be recording videos for these two amps in the near future that will further showcase what these amps can do.

Ok so here are the clips:

I also have a VERY special project in the works that hopefully you guys will love but more about that later!! Adding to that, I'm thinking about offering group deals on certain products. For example, I have 5 Marshall YJM amplifiers on order along with some other killer amplifiers. Contact me @ info@modsuqdmusic.com for the Rig Talk YJM pricing! The 2 above Marshall’s are just an example of the things to come. I will be adding to the modded format from other talented industry builders. Modified lead times for stocked amplifiers will be in the 7 business day time frame. I am really stoked about doing this and lucky to have such great industry friends around me for all the help and encouragement!

All the best!!

Nice! Keep us posted on what brands you will be carrying please...

Congrats Ralphie, after knowing you for almost 10 years I am certain that you are going to bring the best products to the forum and offer good solid prices  Keep one of those YJMs for me as the deal is still in play ;)

Outstanding job on the clips Greg, I have seen Greg in action while recording and what Ralph stated is true. There is no need for post mix down tricks as Greg just knows how to capture an amp and what it sounds like. Low/High pass filter is it.

Can't wait for the Skunk Works surprises to come
