Hey guys. I wanted to ask the sensible people here about PA speakers. Other places seem to have a pretty expensive bar when it comes to recommendations.

I have a Headrush 112 and really like a lot but I've never had a single other to compare it to. Could be a good thing since it's cheap! So, I want to get a second speaker to spread the sound around the room. I'll use it for practice with electronic drums, guitar and vocals mostly but maybe an acoustic gig too. Not serious concerts where I'm doing the PA (obviously), just my own stuff.

I figure a matching HR is the best way to go probably (and super affordable) since they'd sound alike but I've been kind of eyeing the newer Mackie SRM212 and the EV ZLX12BT. EVERYONE over there more or less says QSC K12 is the minimum. I've never tried one but I kind of like the Mackie from just what I've read, and it's a little cheaper. Is it worth the money to step up? If I stick the better one closer, will the HR show it's (potentially lesser I guess?) quality from another corner? I really do think it's pretty killer for it's price. And LOUD.

Anyone tried any of them? Any opinions or experience? I think a 12 is the way but I'm not hellbent against a 15 if it makes some kind of sense to have one of both.

My buddy has an EV ZLX12BT and ZLX15BT. The 15 obviously hits harder and goes lower, however what you describe the 12 would be the way to go and save the cost. I have always slightly preferred the midrange on most 12inch PAs compared to the 15s.

In your situation I would just get another Headrush 112
