Just wondering thoughts on anyone that's compared these 2 pups, specifically the bridge. Which one is more open, less compressed? Articulate? You get the point!

I had afwayu's in an all mahoganny PRS standard and replaced them with pain killers. The PKs are much more aggressive sounding. Lots of mids. The afwayus are a little warmer to my ears. The pks are more percussive sounding where the afwayus seemed a little softer. Articulation/compression didn't seem like there was a whole lot of noticable difference to me. Both are great. I've actually been thinking of putting afwayus back in that guitar since I have pks in my SC250.

Yeah I may keep my PK's, they do sound pretty bad ass! Very articulate!

Painkillers are tight and overdriven. meaning, they sound like you stuck a boost in front of the amp, right off the bat. have a sort of distorted sizzle to them, good upfront mids.
Afwayu. to my ears, are more thick and a little less mids, more scooped kind of sounding. darker.
at least to me, anyways.

Took me a while to get along with my PKs. Now? Love 'em more than anything. They have a sizzle (as mentioned) and a SLAM when playing - they're lush and full of tasty raunch
