This by no means works like it does in the analog world, in fact not very close, but it can add some extra muscle and thickness to your recorded tones. I took two guitar tracks, and then copied them to another buss. This buss was eq’d to hell, boosting 9-10 db in certain frequencies. It was then placed much much lower in the mix right under the main tracks. Key is, be happy with your main tracks first before trying it. I don’t have an AB comparison right now, but the guitars are much more Grindy and gnarly in the midrange, which was the heart of the EQing. This was a technique done on black dahlia murders nocturnal record, however I do not have an SSL console or a real neve portico 5033 EQ :D. I did use a neve style eq plug for this. Just started messing around with it I’m sure I can do much better, but overall I like where it’s going.

Sounds killer, man. Awesome girth and the mids are definitely gnarly AF.

Hell yeah, that sounds great! Can't wait to hear the in/out clip to compare.
