Excellent interview with hedge fund manager, economist and writer Alex Krainer covering world geopolitics and economics. I'm posting in part because of a brief mention of the French colonization of Haiti and the other thread with folks complaining about Haitian immigrants/refugees. Likewise, expect to see Gazan refugees here too, which is a direct result of western support for the Israeli colonization project. In other words, if you claim to be a nationalist, don't support western imperialism.

It's because they are all lawyers from the upper classes of society. These people don't get that 2.50 cent gasoline vs 3.50 gasoline can make or break people, never mind artificial diesel prices driving up the cost of everything along with it. They live in an alternate reality, sheltered from financial and social storms thanks to great wealth.

I have heard, and seen, that money (And power) changes people. Can make them callous, selfish, greedy. I'm not sure which way it works but I have always leaned towards the queen bee / royal jelly metaphor.
