Can you still get pedals from him? I know once upon a time there was a huge waiting list. Really looking to get my hands on one. Anyone know the scoop?

I've seen a few Timmy's for non inflated prices on the gear page lately,if that says anything.

Trying to get ahold of a Tim pedal but having zero luck finding one. Trying to figure out what is going on with them - i dont even remember if dealers existed for them - which brings up the question of whether you can still buy direct or what is going on?

Maybe Brad or someone knows?

& Thanks for the heads up

I just bought (2) limited edition Timmy's (Red & Seafoam green). Theses have a different chip inside than your normal Timmy. Sounds great with my Bogner's....very transparent pedal for sure!

I have a seafoam green Timmy that I love...never realized it was different from the original though. Any ideas what the functional/tonal differences are, if any?

I would like another Timmy,,now you have me curious, I thought it was a reg V2 but in new color, now I need to know.

You guys rule - much appreciated!

I had no idea there were different versions for the Timmy. Definitely would be cool to know the differences/purposes of each. I will try and give him a call and see whats up. I have heard he is extremely humble

The coolest thing to me about the Timmy is how the eq works, making it perfect for a lead boost with an already overdriven amp. The treble and bass knobs are actually cut knobs, decreasing those frequencies as you turn the knobs up. I run the treble around noon and the bass around 2:00 and it really focuses my lead tone in on the midrange to nicely cut through a mix (and it never gets nasally). Conversely, I turn them basically the whole way down if I'm using it as an overdrive for dirty rhythm/chord tones. It's a really cool pedal that brings a lot of function and versatility to the table in a simple package...definitely try one out.

From Paul C:

"I decided to change the chip in the batch to the LM1458 for something a tiny bit smoother. It's in a socket, so it's easy to change it back to the stock 4559 if somebody wants. These will only be available from humbucker - they're getting the whole batch."

Tim/Timmy pedals

"The green pedals used a LM1458 instead of the standard 4559. I made that known when I put these out, and that's what the op is talking about. It was never about the color - just the sound of the chip used in the different colored batch.

From other threads on TGP:

"I've owned both and I prefer the surf green Timmy to the blue one. It's a little bit smoother to my ears... not as harsh."

From another TGP post:

"The LM1458 is great in the Timmy. I tried out a half dozen different chips and easily liked that one best. It's a tad lower gain-wise, but it smooths out the top end in a really nice way. I've been running it in there for at least a year and a half. "

That would explain why I like it so much as a lead boost. I'd probably like the original one more as a basis for an overall dirty tone.

I've been preaching these pedals for eons and have never come across any one of them to be harsh. :dunno: IMO Paul makes one of the most natural sounding OD's out there.

Those guys crack me up.....comma, apostrophe,........ WTF?

I agree, you definitely have to filter out a lot to get to the info.

The scary part is that these pedals could reach ridiculous prices.

FYI Tim announced at tgp he was no longer making the Tim pedal

Tim is by far one of my favorites. Gave me everything I could get with Timmy, plus a little bit more. Was worried about it when I heard he was halting production. Then I read some of those threads and saw that Paul mentioned he was just taking a break from Tim production to focus on Timmy for a little while.
