So it’s Friday. The boss has NOTHING for me to do. So I hop in a truck and start cruising around Kalamazoo. Stopped by the old Gibson factory. Grabbed a Water Street Coffee.

And then I see the ol Cork st Pawn Shop….

They usually have NOTHING, in the line of guitars, but I was bored so I went in.

Same ol s**t. And then out of the corner of my eye, I see this silver Strat WITH A HOCKEYSTICK HEADSTOCK!!!

I see an Epiphone logo and think….hummmmm….interesting.

I pick it up. It’s light. It’s nasty dirty. Frets are corroded. Strings are rusty.

Then I thought. I can fix this baby up!!! So I took her home.

I plug it in. NOTHING!!! Then I move the toggle and it begins to sputter. Pulled the strings. Pulled the guard. Sprayed the switch and pots. Got all the electronics smoothed out. Then cleaned the frets. Then cleaned the guitar. Then strings.

I wasn’t able to get the action super low because of some high frets. (I think I may have to take a radius block to it)

I’m not a Strat fan so I’m not sure if the pickups are good/bad….i mean it sounds pretty good.

The neck is a medium/slim C. It’s nice and lightweight. It looks like someone has screwed the trem down to make it a hard tail, which I was totally fine with. The nut fell off, so I had to superglue it back on.

All in all, not too bad for $150!!!
