I usually do gift when dealing with bros for anything, be it amps or guitars, or little stuff like a pedal or pickup or something on here. When you guys do high dollar stuff (Historic Gibson for example) who takes the fees? If the ad says $XXXX shipped/Paypaled, do you eat them or does the other guy? It seems kind of unfair to click that button that throws the fees at the seller, but c'mon.....am I expected to pay his asking price plus the cost of his chosen way to get paid? Just wondering.

Thanks guys.

You cannot gift without fees unless you do it directly from your bank or from a PP balance. If you are using a credit card there is the fee. You are not accomplishing anything by using Gift this way other than you pay fees and are not protected.

No brother, I know that.....I only use gift for friends that I trust or little stuff if people ask.....my question is using regular PP who eats the fees, in this situation? If I bought a guitar from you and didn't use gift, do I take the fees or do you pay them?

Seller usually pays unless noted. I always ask seller to send request.

If the ad says shipped and PayPal'ed, the seller is eating the fees. For a high dollar item, that's what I'd expect.

At that point seller has just included the fees in the asking price. Consumer always pays the fees and taxes really - even if they are hidden.

^ that's correct. If I'm selling something, I'll basically always take less in cash relative to PayPal for a variety of reasons, the fee being one of them.

Paypal provides me with a service that find valuable, as it saves me time and aggravation. I have no problem paying the Paypal fees.

This is odd.

I dislike PayPal. Their exchange rates are tyrannical as are their timeline policies.

Fuck "The Man"

I agree with this.. not to mention the so called "protection" they offer is a joke.

+1 no worse than a CC. And people would rather use it most of the time.
