Jerry P is a genius with all things Peavy, hit him up...

Open up the jack end of the footswitch and see if any of the wires have come loose. If they have, just cut and resolder.

i'm almost 100% sure it's in the wire itself- almost next to where it comes out of the pedal housing. if i move this section of wire i can get the pedal to work, just only while i'm holding it the right way.

i opened the housing up and everything appears secure in there. I have not checked the jack end for any problems, but like i said i'm pretty sure the problem is the wire.

ok i opened the jack and everything looks fine in there. the jack actually looks surprisingly new....but i don't think it's suspect.

it does work, but only if i hold the cable the right way...
and it is indeed the peavey switch

Where do you have to move the cable, on the pedal side of the wire or on the connector side that plugs into the amp? It is usually the pedal side of the wire that breaks. The easiest fix is to cut off a few inches of the wire and remove the bad section. It's usually right where the wire bends all the time where is enters the pedal housing.
