More and more I'm regretting selling my 6505. My main complaint with the amp though was that the louder I turned it up, the more compressed and muddy/sloppy it got. It also had WAY more gain on the lead channel than I'd ever need and I had trouble dialing it out. I've been looking at the FJA and Voodoo mods and it looks like another Peavey is in my near future. Can some of you guys/gals that have had yours modded throw in your 2 cents? I don't want to mod it to the point of sounding like a completely different amp, but tightening it up and getting the gain a little more usable would be awesome. It looks like I can spend anywhere from $100-$1,000+ on the mods...so some insight from some of you modded Peavey owners would be awesome.

did all the mods except bias mods.. really helps the amp out alot.. tights it up.. and looses lot of hiss/fizz.. im actually going record my amp modded and then go back stock and record to see what the difference is.. is been so long i forgot what my stock 6505 sounds like.. you never know i might like it.. lol

...and u'll have to mod it back again! Stock is great, Modded is super great!
