I got my 5150 repaired a few weeks ago, i had bought this amp really cheap and it was in real beat up condition. So the amp tech changed all the front panel knobs and pots as some of them had died. However he didn't bother to find out what the original values were. The 5150 is an amp i am very familier with as i have owned them in the past.

With the new knobs (and they aren't ur black chicken knobs, more like silver dome knobs, which give it a cool look!) the gain control and eq settings are all over the place. For example the Lead pre gain on 1 is more like what it should be on 4.

Where can i find info on what the original pot values are for the 5150/6505. Buying from Peavey parts department wont be very convenient for me as i'm in Pakistan. If i could know the values, i could score the pots locally.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Faisal

Which pots need to be replaced? All of them? Sounds like this guy doesn't know what he is doing, I would demand a refund and not go back.

I dont have many choices here unfortunately. The first guy replaced the pots.
I now have gone to a new amp tech and he has asked me to find out what the pot values are to see which ones are correct and which need to be replaced.
Yeah, i'd like to know the values of all the front panel pots, gain, pre, eq's etc.

Cant find them online.

You have techs who don't know where to find schematics for extremely popular amps like 5150's?
You need to find a new guy.

pm me your email address and i will send you the 5150 schematic. it has all of the pot values you will need on it.

Bring back a dead post sorry.. Anyone know where to get the 50K mid pot for a 5150. Yes I have looked on Fleabay. Don't know what to look for on Mouser or any of those sites.

Another vote to call Peavey. I've ordered parts from them a few times. ALWAYS courteous and helpful, GREAT prices, too.
