I would like to play one for sure. I have the first version and all though it doesnt get really high praise I think its fucking awesome... I retubed it with Kt 77s and it smokes... I like that the new one has a built in noise gate if it works like the one on the poweball II it would be the tits. I imagine it would be a rather flexible amp IMHO... as the first version is very responsive in the eq section and does take some time to tweak but when its dialed in sounds freaken huge.

I really don't care what it replaced does anyone own it or have played it ? Sounds killer. I never played or even heard a jsx. Never thought it b a hard rock metal machine.

I never new the JSX sounded that good. I found this clip of FJA modded one. Holy crap. It's amazing sounding. Wondering if I should go this route over evhiii ?

Honestly, my JSX sounds like that without mods.
Pissed off, grinding, tight and mean.
If you aren't a dial tweaker or you're bad at eqing active eq's then look elsewhere. These amps have been known to frustrate a lot users because of that.
But the rewards are fantastic.

I have a jsx and I love it. Even the clean channel is nice. Some people say it is thin or whatever but to each thier own. I love mine and wouldn't hesitate buying the XXX 2. Change the el34's to 6l6's and it makes a very nice difference. The XXX 2 may already have 6l6's but I am not certain.

I would love to hear the 2 amps side by side. I'm sure its the same repackaged deal they did the 5150/6505. Which I'm OK with. If they are you can pick these up all day long for $500. New tubes and bam! Cheap by comparison to other 3 channel amps out there

Jsx is now the xxx 2. Peavey said so. But cosmetics are way nicer. Has a noise gate in it. Did jsx have a noise gate?

Like many have said , the XXX - II is nothing more than a rebadged JSX. No changes. In my opinion , the JSX is the most underrated amp out there right now , as far as rock/metal tones go. They are the perfect metal chug tone to my ears

All this talk about JSX's and what not made me pick one at GC used. $499 almost mint. Super clean. Ive been 5150/6505 since 93 or so. Need a back up anyways. Hope it rocks!
