Pedal voltage vs Amp voltage question

With all the pedals claiming to sound/have the feel of an amp I'm wondering why there is not more of a push for pedals to have voltages similar to what is on the inside of an amplifier. Most pedals run at 9v, 12v, 18v for increased headroom. Some run AC instead of DC. Would not the ultimate "sound like an amp pedal" operate at similar voltage as the preamp section within an amplifier? In other words, what effect does voltage have on sound? Hopefully someone could elaborate a little more who has experience building amps or pedals.

No, the voltage would not really have a big impact. Amps use very high voltages because of tubes. Pedals use low voltages because of ICs and transistors. The circuit/components give the impact, not specifically the voltage.
