Pedals to go with Marshall DSL 50

Of the following pedals: Majik Box Body Blow, Rocket Fuel, Wampler Plextortion, Pinnacle, or Carl Martin Plexitone. Which would sound the best with my Marshall DSL 50. I am basically using my DSL as a wet/clean amp. I am not to thrilled with the red channel. Looking to get a good plexi to hot rodded plexi drive and still be able to use the clean channel. So let me hear your opinons on what ya think I should get. Thanks
 
i think you should get it modified at FJA mods, get it home and put some KT77 power tubes in it, turn the presence down below 3, the volumes up past 5n and experiment with the gain knob lol.

Wampler Plextortion or SuperPlextortion will get you some great Plexi tones and you can keep your cleans and probably will be pretty happy.
 
I hated the red channel on my 100...

use the red channel for your clean, slam the green channel, that's the one likes a boost on those... I used a Bad Monkey.... cause I was being cheap!

But it sounded kewl!
 
Tried one of these last week: Best "Marshall in a pedal" I had ever played...



Pete can make anything sound good but even with my "amateur" playing, the Plexitone rocks!

I do own a DSL50 too, haven't fired it up recently, 6505 is getting all the playing lately. :D
 
Nice collection! Ive only played the Plexitone. Amazingly versatile pedal. Many tones and many uses.
 
Never even thought about using the red channel for clean, cause I do like the green. I'll try that. And yes Pete makes everything sound good. Thanks for the ideas!

It's a Plextortion that's SUPER! :gethim: Now that I didn't directly answer your question my guess is that it has more gain available or options than the NON-SUPER! :gethim: :lol: :LOL:

Judging by the clips I've heard it seems the Plextortion seems to work great into a clean or semi dirty amp. The Pinnacle's seem to only work good into a Fender type totally clean circuit only.

Anyone ever compare the two against one another?
 
Can not comment the Wampler Plextortion vs Pinnacle but I would say the Pinnacle is the Plextortion on "steroids"... Like a modded-mean Marshall compared to a stock Plexi.

But I did compare the Carl Martin Plexitone vs the Wampler Plextortion. The Carl Martin can do everything the Plextortion does and beyond (with more gain). Don't get me wrong. Both are awesome pedal and both sound "real" into a good clean channel amp. You can't get wrong with either pedals.

But for me, the "more gain" available with the Carl Martin, the boost feature and also 2 channels would make me pick the Carl Martin over the Wampler Plextortion.

The store I checked these pedals should receive a Pinnacle soon so I'll go back to check it out.
