Pedal kits have been taking up increasing space on my GAS list, so just wanted to see what people have built and how they turned out.

BYOC Blues Overdrive, clone of a Marshall BluesBreaker. Pedal turned out great, did a few tweaks they talked about in the instructions, its turn into one of my favorite overdrives with my Fender Bandmaster reverb

BYOC Leeds Fuzz, clone of a Superfuzz. This pedal turned out great as well, really nice fuzz. I have tried an original superfuzz and this gets that tone pretty well without the horrible bypass.

BYOC Tribooster, Got this for the treble booster, which I never use. I use it on the clean boost mode for a solo boost on single channel amps without effects loops. Never bonded with the treble booster section, but I hear you have to run the amp cranked and then apply the treblebooster, I can rarely do that.

AB box. built a few AB boxes. They have been nice, so I can switch amps in my music room without changing wires.

I built the overdrive 2 with the mosfet specs and it sounds great!!!!

I tried some DIY 2 years ago in 2010 and decided to try something from scratch and not use anyone's kit. So after researching I built my own circuit board reverse engineered based on the 1979 gray spec DOD 250 Overdrive and housed it an enclosure with aluminum etched panel artwork/labeling. A year later in 2011, I went through the same exact process and built my own version of a script era MXR Dyna Comp based on an actual 1977 factory schematic. Both sound great with each other and it's personally cool to hear exactly what the vintage originals must have sounded like. I have them both on my Pedaltrain Mini as part of my modest 5 pedal home practice rig. Not interested in selling anything and I've given up on building more than I need for myself. But it's not really hard for anyone to make any pedal. You just have to get past fear of the unkown when you first get into DIY and interact with more experienced hobbyists in the community to help learn what you don't know about. That and Google'ing a lot!

I have been toying with the idea of building the Rat clone from BYOC. I really like my Keeley Modded Rat, but it's beat up and I don't like the size of it. I was going to build one not just to learn, but it seems to have all the same features as the Keeley modded one does. If I can build one, and have it turn out like the original, I would be happy.

Anyone else have any luck with the BYOC Rat copy?

I did a couple simple Mesa pedals for switching, a Strobe light from scratch and repair/mods to a few amps/preamps. I would like to do a few pedals but really have no need for pedals but really like building projects like that. Main thing is to make sure you have an understanding of the parts and make sure you have everything sorted out and set up when you start.

Repairs to amps I leave up to an amp tech

The DOD 250 is on my list to build, seems pretty simple.

I haven't seen a Klone kit, but would like to try to build one if I find one available...

This is my:

Tapping into Voodoo
Phull Phaser

I built this using BYOC's Phaser kit and added the "Full Phaser-Univibe" mods to it. The housing is something I put together.

I have see you post this before, awesome idea and even cooler graphics. I must say the graphics are the thing I don't enjoy about building pedals, I usually have mine black with some labels.

Thanks. The graphics are the hard part, but it's a good learning experience. The build is fun.
