I'm fortunate to own (2) Performance Guitars.

The first one is the orange Corsair - I picked this up used maybe 8 years ago IIRC.

Great guitar even though I am not a fan of Rosewood fret board.

I was really lucky to find a Performance Snakeskin a few years back (bought on ebay from the UK). This is not paint - it's true snakeskin wrap. Just an amazing guitar that sounds unbelievable :)

Just a couple weeks back I decided to order another Performance - Corsair, H/S with Floyd - should be ready around Xmas. Not cheap at all but something magical about these guitars :)

That Corsair looks almost identical to a Kramer Baretta I got for $700 around 1990. How much more did it cost and how is it that much better?

I know Warren DeMartini has been playing those for years.  Nice guitars!

When I was 15-16, I bought an original Kramer Baretta (banana HS, creme just like the No-Bozo add of EVH). I did not want creme but they had just changed the H/S and it was the last I could find (1985-86)

I still have the guitar but have loaned (given) to my nephew. I painted it several times....

The Baretta has the body shape of a typical strat - the Corsair is more thin.

To be completely honest - the Performance blows away the Kramer (IMHO) beyond imagination....

Yes, he has until he got bit by the Charvel endorsement and then had to hide his Performance until recent where he now openly plays them again :)

damn, fine looking guitar. might have to look into that one. Is it worth the 5k price in terms of playability, sound, etc?

Luxxtone level or beyond?

Can't believe a snake had to die just to make you happy Dave.. ;)

I dig your backyard man... Nice mix of lawn with some solid concrete work and the like. Black wrought-style fence really pops against the treed area. Nice yard

My buddy had a Performance, and it was a great playing and sounding guitar. It was really fun to play. The quality was top notch also.

Thanks. So busy this year I did not even open the pool and as Murphy's law would have it - hottest, driest summer in years - you know, perfect pool weather:)

Those guitars are pretty legendary! Well done and congrats!

Thank you.

I was considering another Snake but Kenny at Performance won't do one now. He said getting the skin is very hard and he needs a helper who is in Japan now having surgery.

So, black body it will be :)

Attached is my latest Performance :)

Always wanted one of those snakeskin jobs. Beautiful guitar.

Yes, Performance are very expensive but magical guitars. Thanks guys!

My very first pro neck was from Performance Guitar, built in 1981, tele headstock maple neck and fretboard, I still have it and recently refretted it with stainless steel! Played it on a Charvel Star body for many years growing up..
