I much prefer that 'face-grille' over the die-cut metal "Angelfish-D's" that br00talize the current amps. From my experience, it limits the versatility aesthetically that the amps really have, especially to those unfamiliar with them. While i respect the fact that the core of Diezels grow from heavy music, I personally am not a devotee to metal, nor are a lot of my friends, and I can't tell you how many of them have approached the amp with trepidation due to their devotion to vintage voiced, single channeled amplifiers. It's a shame, really, but we all know who gets the last laugh .

Not gonna lie, after all is said and done, I *CAN NOT* be happier with the amazing tone that comes out of my Einstein 1x12 piggybackstack, but... I would love to convert my Einstein to a Plexi-styled headshell...

Any chance we might be seeing some sort of '10th anniversary(?) edition' Diezels with some cool aesthetic changes? Kinda like how Bogner offers Ecstasys to have either a metal-plate, wheat or black grillecloth, or how the 20th Anniv. XTCs have a Marshall-esque motif.

This NOT the first Herbert, but #4. All Herberts start with 001 followed by the production#.

I have gotten the same comment from friends who are NOT into metal music at all. But after they have heard the amazing Blues/Jazz tone this amp can produce they all got very very quiet. :D

Cheers, Jens

That's true, but does someone know where the first models are? 001/001 for instance

No way you are kidding me....I asume?

There was a guy in Sweden that sold a Herbert prototype a couple of moths ago, it looked like this (perhaps not exactly this one - I found the picture on google). Perhaps it is one of the first?:

There is only one person who can tell us that.... :D

(Im also very curious about the life of the Herbert...)

WOW amazing!!

But what about the front plates... I see a red one, a anglfish one, a metal one with slotted holes and upholstered front.. what is the relation of the fronts and the serial numbers?

I also like the numbers around the volume knobs..realy cool!

I wonder that too.. the #1 has a metal grille familiar to the current models... and #4 has a cloth grille.
