Did any of you see the gary moore "one night in dublin" dvd? Some great opening shots
of philomena unveiling the statue of phil in front of the bruxelles bar. Great show done by a
great man for another great man (I know, I'm just a dude, playing a dude...)

Thin Lizzy was one of my favs...

A little cold sweat for ya all in the Sykes era..

Man Sykes amp sounds so good in that vid. Assuming thats a real Jose? Wow.

Lizzy are my all time fave band and Robbo was the reason I picked up a guitar.
Watched a live link last night of a gig being streamed with Robbo playing, band were average but Robbo still has that touch and tone, love him.

What's the story behind those videos? Looks like they're jamming in someone's living room! Pretty awesome though.

Lizzy playing at a local pub if I remember correctly. How cool is that?

Great video, best audio I have heard on it, it would have been really cool to have been at that bar on that day.

Thin Lizzy is one of my favorites also.

I remember when this was on, it was a Saturday night programme broadcast in the UK. It was pretty shit actually but good seeing Lizzy on it

Used to be a kids programme in the UK called Tiswas which was really popular, this was supposed to be Tiswas for adults LOL>

Maybe it's the Benny Hill show

My wife and I (she's a Dub), were in Dublin a few years back and drove over to the cemetery where Phil is buried. Walked up to the headstone (which is nothing flashy as one would think), and we met Phil's mother there. Very nice lady and extremely proud of her son and their history. Very chatty, as one would expect. There's a very cool bronze statue of Phil outside of Bruxxel's Bar off of Grafton St.

Did you hear they found 700 unreleased Phil Lynott era Thin Lizzy tunes?

http://www.guitarworld.com/more-700...zy-songs-recovered-selection-be-released-year

This is excellent news. Phil was known as a prolific writer as Sykes has talked about it often.

The friend of Lynott, described only as "a Thin Lizzy fan," was untrusted with more than a hundred tapes by Lynott and has held on to them until recently, waiting the right time. The tapes were handed over to Universal Music free of charge.

Either the "Thin Lizzy Fan" is an idiot or him/her is a liar. Nobody gives Universal anything for free  Universal stands to make big money off these tapes.

"It was a rainy night, the night the king went down". RIP Phil.

It's a day late, but big respect for Phil Lynott, RIP.

Great songwriter and great frontman. He also found some great guitar players. One of my guitar hero's was/is Scott Gorham.

Right on. The Brian Roberson, Scott Gorham (my first guitar hero) lineup was classic Lizzy. They created magic..
