Pic of my Les Paul that took a bullett...

Just ran across these pics of my Les Paul that took a bullet. Back in the early or mid 90's I was playing a rock club in Indianapolis and it was kinda crazy. Jani Lane from Warrant had came in and was sitting in with us - they had just played an arena and he announced at the concert he was coming to this club - there was so many people there it was insane. Anyway after the show some people were hanging out in the dressing room - I wasn't in there. But 2 rooms away a drunk bouncer was showing a guy his gun. The gun accidentally goes off - the bullett goes through a bathroom - grazes the soundmans neck while he's sitting on the john - into the dressing room - bounces off a big water heater and goes into my guitar case - which the bass player was leaning on. The owner of the club payed me the same amount I had paid for the guitar - I just glued the piece back on . The soundman probably could have sued - he just asked for a case of beer and left for Chruch. Crazy days!!! Anyway here's some pics - I keep this guitar in a closet at my parents house and play it when I go back.

edit - the bullet went into the cutaway and stopped there. I think I put the bullet in the little compartment of the case - will have to check next time. Thinking back, we're really lucky no one was hurt or killed!

Jani ran into me when I was 18 before they got huge. He was much shorter than me but still spilled my beer.. running off stage to sing to a girl Was at the original Hammer Jacks in 1988.
