Full circle moment for me. Traded Keeley my Aria Pro II "The Cat" in 87' for his Ibanez Roadstar II. I started looking around and they had some at Guitar Center for a few hundred bucks. Going to upgrade the pickups and clean the pots and should have a nice shredder!

Fucking-A! That was my first electric, got a black one with a white pickguard for Christmas of 1984.
Nice!! You should pick one up! I got this for about $350 and plays amazing. Now I remember why I dug that guitar so much.

Had a black with white pick guard Roadstar II back in 85....was my second guitar. No trem, but loved that axe. Singer in my brother's band back then got the 86 HSS dark plum Roadstar II. Thing was a looker. Slanted singles...looked and played like butter.

first guitar I bought.I worked all summer doing odd jobs. Mine was a red metallic.

Me too!
I think many of us in that era were like this! Me as well! I think I remember I got one of the RS1000s
I had the stock trem yanked because it was awful and had them put in a Rockinger locking trem which ended up being even worse! LOL!

Dude, you look just like Gene Simmons in that photo!

That's a pretty impressive memory pop!

Any particular reason that scene/guitar was stuck in your head - did you own a Roadster back then?

I wanted that particular guitar very badly growing up, Back to the Future was my favorite movie. I never ended up getting one, but I still plan on it someday.

I have one. Got it in 85. It’s totally destroyed now. I can’t even find the body. Still have the neck.

Sadly, I have an original Peavey 1984 in the same shape. Can’t find the body, but still have the neck.
