Hi folks,
im picking up a PRS sc trem in blue tomo in a deal with a pal and am just wondering what the general concensus is?
Its a 2004 stock model with moons. Ive owned a sc before (fixed bridge) and liked it but thought the pickups were a bit meh... Never really seemed to bond with a PRS (Theyre amazingly well made i know, this will be my 3rd), mayabe 3rd time lucky?!

Anyway, interested in hearing your opinions good/bad =)

Cheers

I have 2 Miras and a 20th Anniversary CU22. I love the Miras and I'm still deciding on the CU22. I found the pickups in all the PRS I own(ed) to be extremely meh. I did own an SC245, but as always, I found once again I don't get along with Les Paul shaped guitars and had to let it go. It was a gorgeous guitar though. I have never owned a PRS with a trem, hope you like it.

avoid the trem I have owned 2 PRS guitar with a trem . The first was a Santana and I could use the trem on it and it would stay in tune . The second was a single cut and if I even looked at the trem it would go out of tune . I loved the guitar but couldn't have a guitar that wouldn't stay in tune . For what a PRS cost there is no excuse for the crappy trems they put on them . IMHO floyds are the only way to go with the trem .

Weird. I tend to go for the trem PRS guitars because of the tuning stability and snappier tone. Never had a problem with the 4 trem models i've owned. I can divebomb my Standard 24 and it comes right back perfectly.

Fwiw I got the guitar and she is a Doozy =)
Top class all round and I dont particularly like PRS(i).
You can beat the snot out of the trem and she stays in tune - the coil tap sounds are pretty usuable too.
Im probably in the minority on RT in that i dont have/play channel switching amps (or high gain for that matter) generally and when a guitar like the SCT with coil taps is plugged into my rig, it just confirms to me that its ALL in the volume control =)
Great guitar - but will probably move it on!
Anyone wanna swap for a Charvel EVH Haha?

Sounds like user error to me. You can't go nuts on a PRS trem like you can with a Floyd, but if set up properly, you could easily pull off VH type dives and stay in tune.
