I just re-refinished my 1999 RG7620. For basswood this looks pretty good. I used a trans blue spray and then tung oil over it. Here are some shitty pics of the 7620 along with my RG1527 I refinished about a year ago.

Thanks Jeff. To be completely honest it looks way better in the pics than in real life.

Agreed! I love blue axes....although I only have 1. That thing looks sweet!

Wow, that blue looks spectacular on that basswood!!! Nice job man!

Great job Pete, I have bee thinking of doing something to my 1527, was going swirl and still may.

Looks great!!
Thanks Tom. I've been waiting 11 months for that mahogany 7620 body and couldn't wait any longer. I also just ordered a mahogany 1527 body from somewhere else. Hopefully it won't take as long.

Thanks man. I thought you had a black 1527!?!? I wouldn't paint over that - it may be a collectable one day.

Dayum! I didn't know you were still waiting for that. Wasn't it supposed to be "just about done" months ago? Who'd you order a new body from this time?

It was just about done at least 6 months ago, but then his business died and had to get a real job. He stopped taking orders a while ago, but he now only has time on weekends to finish the jobs he started. I just ordered the 1527 from Sims who is the only one (that I know of) who does 1527 with a cnc machine. I'm going to finish it myself so it shouldn't take too long. Of course, it'll be the first time I sink the modded trem posts (from Rich at ibanez-rules) by myself. Hopefully I won't fuck it up too bad.

Installing trem posts is real easy. Spit in the hole (that's what she said), and add some spit on the stud (again, that's what she said). Then, use a hammer and a dowel to TAP it into the hole. It's very straightforward.

When you get the mahogany body, what color are you going to paint it?
