Pickup advice for an Ibanez RG 7-string?

I picked up a used Ibanez RG7321 a week or so back. It has "upgraded" pickups, a Dimarzio Liquifire in the neck and a D-Activator in the bridge.

I don't dislike the neck pickup, but the D-Activator just isn't doing it for me. It's not tight enough for me, and the feedback is absolutely absurd (muting strings fully with both hands and an ISP decimator running and it still screams) at high volumes.

Granted I am comparing it to the BKP Miracle Man in my Explorer.

Are my expectations too high for this basswood RG? Or if I threw in a set of BKP's (or something else?) could I tighten it up to where I want it to be?

The only reason I hestitate is because of the low value of the guitar to start with. With BKP's I'd have as much money in pickups as I did the guitar. But I do like the feel of the guitar, just not the low-end dirty tone from the bridge pup... so if more expensive pickups would solve the problems I'm fine with keeping it.

I use Blaze and AN7s in the neck. I use EVO7s and Blaze Customs in the bridge although I'm about to try a PAF7 in the bridge.

EVO7 is the pickup that comes in the Universe models, isn't it?

The Miracle Mans sound great in basswood. You should give those a shot since you're already accustomed to them in your Gibson.

I just put an Aftermath in my RGD7321, and I'm not so sure I like it.
Almost think I like the stock pickup better. so that's kind of bad.

I also just picked up a new RG7321, and just keep in mind, you need to use a pickup with NO Cover or it will not fit.

That's disconcerting. What about the Aftermath do you not like?

If you decide it's not for you, let me know. Maybe I'll take it off your hands to try it in mine.

I've got a set from a Music Man JP7 (D-sonic, pre-crunch lab/liquifire, I think) in my 7420. I really like them.

I can tell you what not to try is a Dimarzio X2N-7.

Sounded horrible in that guitar. I ended up selling the axe.

I have Blazes in my Universe. I like them. Not too much of anything.
