Gents, does pickup orientation matter? According to what I have read, there is more warmth from the neck pickup when the screws face the neck.. the same apparently applies to the bridge humbucker? How much diff if any will this make? I was just about to swap out the Air Zone in my strat when I noticed that the builder had sent it to me installed "upside down" from how I usually see pickups wired. Would this explain some of the lack of cut I felt the pup had on the low E A, and D strings? Because it is a floyd, i'd rather ask first rather than string it up and notice no difference.. My complaint is this pickup sounds too muted and round. Maybe i don't like the EQ'ing of Dimarzio pups but I'd like to hear from some of you guys in the know first..

Thanks - and merry xmas!

Also found this from Dimarzio:

Most humbuckers are symmetrical and their sound does not change at all when installed backwards, but some have a slightly different sound if you install them in the opposite direction from normal. It’s not a matter of right or wrong, but a matter of taste for such a subtle difference, if you can hear the difference at all. Those models include the Air Norton™, Air Zone™, Evolution® neck, bridge and 7-string, FRED®, Humbucker from Hell™, DLX Plus™ neck and bridge models, Virtual P-90™, Blaze™ neck and bridge models and Tone Zone 7™.

so now i wonder whether or not i switch it or just swap in the JB I have. The JB isn't F spaced though, anyone really notice a diff?
