Ok I have this 94-95 made in japn fender strat that was given to me but i want to put a humbucker in the bridge . I need to know something that will that will be compairable to my sg it has iommi signature humbuckers in it anyone got any good ideas of what to look for in the same gain range that sounds good in a strat ?

LOL Ya that would but the polls dont line up to the strings . I mean on the iommi you cant see the polls but on another gibson bucker its off a bit on the high 3 strings wouldnt that make a difference in sound quality ?

Nothing noticeable, no.

I'd go with someething different... anyways, it will probably sound A LOT different with the same pup in diferent guitar bodies/wood.

I have a MIJ fender just like yours, HSS, and use a damn Bare Knuckle VHII and it's a fucking awwesome tone. Have you ever tried out any BKP? they rock.

Hmm the Damn BK VHII...whats the difference between the standard and damned version does he engrave 666 on the back and and a extra wind or two

I can't say I have heard anything that was that close to an Iommi, they are pretty unique pickups.

+1 I think they are unique as well. I really liked the neck on the tony Iommi SG I had. The Bridge was only okay. Great guitar, but very neck heavy.

Not really sure what to recommend for a strat to sound like the Iommi pickups

Best humbucker I have ever found for the bridge of an alder strat is the Duncan SH-11 Custom Custom..................and I've tried a bunch of them. Including some Bareknuckles and MCP's.

When I said "damn" I was joking, no mean to confuse! It's a regullar VHII and it sounds great. Also, remind that Tim Mills does overwounded versions of his pups as well, and also cermic magnets, the last ones I really don't dig in, prefer alnico.

It's all a matter of taste and what do you want from your set. I would never want 2 guitars to sound the same, but when you do not want to mess arround the eq of your amp, its reasonable. Also for a backup guitar. But of course, that's my opinion.
