I'm building a Musikraft with an alder body and a maple on maple neck. Is going to have a Floyd. I'm looking for a recommedation for a humbucker for the bridge and a single coil (or single coil sized humbucker) for the neck. Please don't recommend any crazy expensive boutique pickups.

Considering you didn't give us any tonal preferences to go by, here are a few:

Duncan:

Neck - Hotrails
Bridge - JB/Custom/Distortion

DiMarzio:

Neck - Air Norton S
Bridge - Evo2/Breed Bridge/Super Distortion

Bareknuckle Holydiver!

Have you ever played one? I did not like it that much after a while much prefer the VHII and the Cold sweat.

I like alot of the 80s hot rodded marshall tones, Jake., Lynch, Nuno, Demartini. I like a promenant pick attack.

Duncan Custom5 (it's been my go-to bridge pickup for a long time)

VHII has more clarity than Holydiver, the HD is thicker, but works great in super strats. VHII for crunch/clarity, HD for thickness is what I would chose. The Cold Sweat is IMO too bright for a strat type, but works great in SGs and other Mahogany guitars.

I've got a Duncan CS '78 and Dimarzio VV Blues combo in my Strat and it sounds glorious

Motorcity 2nd Degree Blackbelt and a Dim Muck single from the same company.

Hmm... For alder? Maple/maple neck?
I'd actually say Duncan Distortion for the bridge. Not sure what kind of tone you want for the neck. That can be tricky. I really like the Dimarzio Cruiser bridge version. But it's not a very gainy pickup. My kid has a San Dimas Charvel with a Duncan Distortion and '59. The DD sounds great in that guitar. So it's worth consideration. The JB is also a good choice IMO.

I was thinking of maybe trying a B&B bill lawrence l500l (or xl) in the bridge and a little 59 in the neck (a la Nuno).

I got a B&B L500XL coming. I'm going to drop it into my swamp ash Musikraft. Not that I dislike the Duncan Custom, just wanted to try the L500XL for a long time now.

Anderson H2+

+1 on that. My H2+ sounds great in my strat.

I just got a Motor City Afwayu and that sounds great in my LP, but I am not sure how it would sound in an alder bodied guitar. Its also probably a little high for your price range.

For the neck, I think the SD little '59 or cool rails would be a good choice. If you go with both humbuckers, make sure to use 500k pots.

Sounds like it could be a bright guitar- Seymour Duncan Custom Custom is a good rec for bright axes- I have on one in my gunslinger and I love it but you'll end up trying a few and settling on what sounds the best good luck

Alder isn't particularly bright. It's a pretty warm-sounding wood. Not as warm as mahogany, but fairly warm none-the-less.

Cold sweat is my favorite pickup in the world to be honest! Im curouis to try a VHII and a Painkiller..
