most of you have seen me pop in to basically an thread about the aldrich and profess my love for the pickup.
i love that thing.

I was considering pickups for my newest axe and of course my first choice was an aldrich but I'm thinking about trying out some other pups 1st.

I was wondering if anyone could suggest a bridge pickup similar to the aldrich but with a little more heat?

If you have not tried the Motor City Pickups Afwayu yet, you really should. It a great pickup!
That's funny, that's what I'm getting for the SG nick!

Jmgman69 Was kind enough to make me a clip of his SG with MC's through the bones, and that pretty much did it for me!

The afwayu is nothing like the Aldrich IMO. I the Aldrich to me see sounds just like a JB with highs and lows extended just a touch and a higher, more dynamic output. The Afwayu is nt really dynamic, has a heavy drive and is voiced very modern

Try a Bare Knuckle Painkiller in the Bridge.
Put one in my LPC and really dig it.
Love the Aldrich's  that set will be going
in my other Axe.

Perhaps a Demartini Duncan .it said to be based on a smoother JB design with alnico

Maybe you could try something from BG Pups or have Bryan build something custom for ya! I currently have an Aldrich in the bridge and would like Bryan to build a complimentary pickup for the neck...just need the funds to get around to it though.

Duncan JB with an Alnico 2 magnet. Stopped looking for pickups when I tried the A2 mags in my JBs.

High output, but much more dynamic than the Aldrich.

To me the Aldrich sounds more open than a JB.

so the general consensus has been that the JB is the closest pickup to the Aldrich....sounds like I've got my pickup.
Thanks guys.
