Hi, newish member here. I am hoping that you guys can share some of your collective insight with me on this rig I'm building.
I have never owned a proper rig before, but I have been lurking on guitar/amp forums for long enough to want to build my own rack rig. I have already bought some gear, and I figured that I should ask you guys for some suggestions on the gear I plan to buy, but haven't bought yet. Currently, I am not looking for a Axe Fx setup so don't tell me to buy it!
What I already have:
1x (2U) Fryette G2502S-6L6 Black Beauty
1x (4U) Mako Mak4
1x (1U) TC Electronics G-system
1x Divine Noise 12 AWG Speaker Cable
What I plan to buy/What I think I need:
1x Rackcase - (Size would probably be 12U)
1x Mills Acoustics Afterburner 412B - (Loaded with 4x V30s)
1x (1U) Furman P-1800 AR - (2-in-1 power conditioner/voltage regulator unit with no sacrificial parts)
1x (1U) Line 6 G90 - (I will only buy this if I start gigging)
1x (1U) Korg DTR-1 Tuner
1x (2U) Pedal Tray from Rackman - (I saw Zachman reccomend this on another thread)
I am mostly hoping to get a wide variety of really good tones: cleans, crunch, lead, etc.
I really like John Petrucci's lead tone, if that means anything. Also, I am currently not gigging so this will just sit in my basement, but if I do start gigging, I will probably haul it out.
What other guitar cabinets should I look into?
I will just post this up before I say anymore and see what you guys have to say! Thanks
