I have to say, I am really digging my PT. I never thought I would like a 20 watt amp (it does not have the big amp presence), but this thing keeps getting better the longer I own it. It is not a super high gain amp but it will do early Metallica with ease (Think BE with Sat and you can get an idea of the max gain). Like all amps it likes some speakers better than others and sounds the best at my house through a 4x12 with beat up G12-T75's. The only thing I do not like is that I need the effects loop if I want a solo boost and the loop is a little noisy. I do not know how well they are selling but if you like the Friedman tone, I'd recommend it to you (especially if you can get a used one).

$1,500?! I thought they were $1,399?

Brad has them for $1499, Matt's music has them for $1399. I bought mine used. It is a killer little amp, I am glad I have mine.

Yeah, saw them for $1499 now. They went up a few times in hundred dollar bumps since its inception.

they are not $1399 any longer Friedman had a price increase to $1499

Stupid name for an amp. Juvenile as hell.

I don't worry about the name, I like how it sounds.

sorry guys for the price bump. But sometimes you start off wanting to reach a certain price point and announce it at 1399.00 and then, you find out how much it really cost to make. Then you realize your dealers and you the designer and manufacture aren't making enough profit to even make the amp worth releasing. Most of the cost with the Pink Taco is the labor that is required to build a USA hand wired amp.

The Soldano Hot rod 20 cost over 2500.00 bucks and its an awesome amp and brilliantly designed by a great amp designer. But that amp is just a PCB board amp that pops right into the chassis and takes no time to make. Nothing wrong with that as far as Im concerned as I believe along with every well know amp designer Im friends with agree that a PCB amp can sound just as good as a hand wired amp. And the amount of knowledge and talent that guys like John Suhr , Mike Soldano and Bogner have just to design the PCBs is incredible. Im just trying to explain where the costs come from. LABOR LABOR LABOR

coming from a guy that calls himself napalm death. LOL

just busting your chops.

The Pink Taco is named after a popular restaurant on Sunset Blvd and the Hard Rock Casino. Is the Big Muff juvenile? The Zvex super hard on? The swollen pickle? I could go on and on.
