So I've been using a tube screamer and it's just ok.
I want to boost the pink taco up to sound like the HBE or the JBE of possible without coloring the tone of the pink taco.

What's the best boost that could pull this off?

I didn't like my Maxon OD9 with my Runt 50, but I tried my Walrus Voyager with gain at 0 and tone at noon, and I loved it. They're a bit on the pricey side, but they can be had for $120-$135 used

I have never really liked boosting my smallbox to be honest. I own a koko reloaded and i always feel like it sounds better with it off. I have had more luck just using the be od for a different vibe. I still like the amp on its own more.

Y'all need to try the Wampler Tumnus with the drive set low, and the level set high, treble to taste, and thank me later. Into the plexi channel of my Small Box it often times sounds better than the BE channel of the amp. Sweet to have both.

I have both amps. To a critical ear, they will always sound different, big iron, big bottles, etc. But you can get them in the same gain ballpark with a boost on the PT.

I have a TC Spark Boost (the bigger one) and a RC Booster (Scott Henderson model). The RC colors it more, but I like the fat color. Not sure which pedal I prefer. But the trick with these is to really boost the output of the pedal. If you're running the gain high on the amp (I'm guessing you are) clicking on the boost pedal even with it's settings maxed out won't make the amp louder, just give you more gain.

When you try your Tubescreamer again, max the OUTPUT/LEVEL of the pedal to give the boost and adjust the pedals' gain to taste. It should work well (I no longer have a TS to try this).

Koko or Tumnus. Both sound amazing on a SB, mini DS or PT.
