I just picked up a 30ft American Stage cable. I haven't got to use it with my rig yet, but I plan to do a proper shootout between my Mogami Gold and my Monster Gold (for sale BTW) cables tomorrow. At first glance, it feels beefy like a Monster Cable, but has better components. And, to top it off, it's MADE IN THE USA! Anyone else try one of these yet?

I just gave it a proper shootout between my Mogami Gold and my Monster Prolink cables. Monster lost by a long shot. The 30ft American Stage cable and the 25ft gold cable were neck in neck. Both maintained clarity and high end as I ran straight into the amp. The 30ft Planet Waves cable sounded better than the 21ft Monster Cable. The Monster sounded thick, but lost a lot of the highs compared to the others.

All in all, I am sold on the new Planet Waves American Stage cables. They are made in the USA, they are good quality cabling, have Neutrik made ends with some new tip design, and are only 28pf/ft. The Mogami W2524 used in the Gold series cable is 39.7pf/ft. The new tip design fits nicely into everything I've stuck it into so far (take that however you want to). All in all, it's a pretty good cable for the money.

I wonder if you can get the raw cable from Planet waves. I like to make my own. I either use Canare or Proco wire.

While I think cables make a difference, I have yet to do an AB test and put them head to head....

To be honest, never heard of the "American Stage" series until now. Just checked the Planet Waves site. I will have to keep an eye out for them.

They are brand new. D'Addario just released them in the past few months. GC and big stores haven't even started carrying them yet (at least not that I've seen.) My local music store hooded me up, and I'm pretty happy with them. I may just go order more still.

Very cool. I am still surprised I didnt hear about them at NAMM time or anything. Either way, would it be possible to compare them to the Standard or custom series Planet waves cables? Would be interested to see how much of an upgrade they are.

I've been using their Custom Series cables for years now...I have yet to have one go bad and they seem to be quieter than anything else that I've tried. I borrowed one when a Monster went down on me at a gig and have been a user ever since...they're much less expensive than Monster yet they sound better IMO and have certainly been more durable in my experience. I'll never buy another "booteek" cable again.

Actually, they won the Best In Show award at the 2012 NAMM in the "Gotta Stock It" category.

Hmmm, I dont know how I missed it. Shame on me!

I have a deal with D'addario (planet waves, etc) and had them include a 10 footer when I placed my last string order. They're very good sounding cables and made very well. I like them.

I just went out and bought another 30ft cable. There is less capacitance in a 30ft American Stage cable than a 25ft Mogami cable, so why not give myself another 5ft away from my rig? I'm about to sell all my old Monster Cables and buy these. For what I can get for the Monsters, I can buy these cables new.

Anyone want to buy a Monster Cable?

I've got the patch cables on my pedal board...love em

WoW !
I'm really interested in this cables !

Actually i have Monster Studio Pro 1000 12ft and want longer cable.

How about noise ? I mean comparing these PW to others ? Less noise ( hums etc ... ) ??

No problems so far. I'm pretty hard on my cables (I can't play standing still), so I'll see how they hold up. Noise usually comes fron the insulation braking down. I've had a few Monster Cables go bad so far. These new PW cables have the same lifetime warranty.

I guess I should have tapped them all with a screwdriver when I did my shootout. Oh well.

Been using Planet Waves cables for a while. I love them. One of the guys at the company told me that there are a whole bunch of new designs coming for the solderless cable series.

Hmm , they are fatter than Monsters ?

No, but Monster Cables are only fat because they add extra plastic insulation around the cable. This does absolutely nothing for the signal quality. The Planet Waves cables feel fat for the right reason. They beef up the metal shielding and use a better wire for lower capacitance. Plug then in and you will hear the difference.

Hmm.
From I had know , PW have the highest failure rates ...
Can you make a comment ?

Sorry to necropost this... has anybody directly compared the Planet Waves Custom Series with the American Stage Series?
