It was a brown eye (odd name) but holy crap what a sound it was through a Friedman cab like seven grand of gear including the prs something gc had on clearance. But holy crap that was awesome sounding head and powerful. Blows bogner out of the water for me no offense lol just thought those were cooler for a while.

your response is pretty much the same as mine was.
ever since i played the BE-100 i am a total friedman disciple now!
ALL of his amps are stellar and even his yet to be released BE-100 OD pedal has me excited to get one!!

Agreed! Had my focus on Bogner and then Diezel,Friedman has got inside my head and it's like I found the sound and feel massive usable gain...even too much sometimes...I have what I call "gaingreed "

What's the differences between Friedman and wizard stuff

Only played one BE and it was an older version, seemed more compressed and darker than a Marshall but very cool and smooth. A Wizard I've only heard live but it sounded like a Jubilee boosted and on steroids. Bright cutting and killer. Since a boosted Jubilee is one of my favorite tones a Wizard MCII is probably my dream amp without playing it yet lol.

can that brightness on a wizard be tamed (ie can it smooth out like a jubilee can)?

I'm not sure but there are a few on the forum who have had both. JohnPace here on RT has a Jube RI and a Wizard, pm him.

I tried one recently but I'm not getting rid of my XTC any time soon. The Friedman is a very nice amp.

My Wizard is not overly bright, I think that was more of an issue with the earlier versions. In fact, my singer commented on how much brighter my Suhr PT100 SE was when we AB'd them.

I own a small box and all i can say is regardless of how the amps sound there is a magic feel going on. Really amazing compression, you can tell that the whole amp is just working together.

Ditto on the Smallbox. I just picked up a TC Spark and am using that in the loop. Great combo.

Wizard MCII has bright knobs for both channels on back so it can sound however you want

I think it's hilarious how one praises a particular amp by putting others down. My Bogner uberschall twin jet is MASSIVE. But I'm a metal guy. I'm sure Friedman makes great stuff, but Bogner is a engineering genious.

I loved the SS-100 and PT-20 I played but I wouldn't say they blew away my Bogner at all. Just different. Friedman makes great stuff and is better for a modern refined take on Marshall. Bogner for the touchy-feely stuff and low mid chew. That said, I really want a Dirty Shirley
