So Threadkiller and I got together again last night to jam out for a bit. Ended up with a bassist and a drummer too and that was my first time jamming with a full band in over three years. It was great and I fell into the groove pretty quickly last night.

Jump over to Killer's house later to check out the MAKO and man was I floored. The Dorado channel had more gain than I knew what to do with

Favorite aspect was the clean channel though as I love a nice clean channel.

All around great night!

The Makos I've tried have been great amps. Haven't tried the pre yet.

All around killer amp. I only spent about twenty minuets with it as I had to drive back home (severe tstorms in NC).

All of the gain channels were super tight and with the gain at noon, there was a ton on tap per channel. The clean was extremely fat on both pickups and the MakoPlex channel was massive going through Steve's 4x12 with GB speakers.

NC, was just there in May :)

Before I got an SLO, Mako was the amp i wanted - just too long a wait time back then.

Thanks for the kind words regarding the rig. I've been pleased with it. It's one piece I don't ever plan on parting with. I think Ventura is correct that it likes a more transparent power section. Only problem I have is the weight. It's in an 8 space rack with effects and power amp and has casters but those stairs are a real bitch

Enjoyed the jam. Calling it a full "band" might be a bit of a stretch. Set up was drummer in a walk in closet, amps in the closet with the drummer and the 3 of us standing outside in his kids bedroom. :D Couple that with the fact that the bass player is a music teacher, formally taught, but has never heard any of the stuff we were playing (70/80's rock) and was standing there sight reading sheet music(from tab websites that are usually wrong) for most of the bass lines, and the fact that we all have about 20 years on aristocat and it was down right comical.

Enjoyed the jam. We'll get together and do it some more. I have to walk a fine line between playing with my current band, jamming with you guys on the side, and divorce

BTW, nice to hear the Friedman Marshall turned up a bit. Damn that thing kills!

LOVE LOVE LOVE mako stuff. Definitely gonna be grabbing a dorado head eventually.

Right now, Andrew's working on new stuff and getting stuff in order to start building again.

What's Mako up to nowadays?

Yeah, I was in the market for a MAK4, but then I saw the 2 space unit and have been waiting for one of those. His webpage and bookface have been pretty empty for a while.

He had some chassis supplier issues, so he started working on being able to do those in house as well...

We still kicked ass though haha.

Conditions weren't ideal but it was nice. Cranking my amp up (3-5) was awesome as well. Brought a whole new level of dynamics out of it.

We need to finish working on Back For More and Photograph. And now that my G Major is mysteriously working again, I'll have delay and verb.

Yup, really liked every Mako amp I've been around.

I had one of the early preamps, and wasn't happy with the lowend on it. Think he addressed that on later models.
