i wouldnt normally report (i promise that in the future i deff wont) on a (every) guitar i happened to run into, but i actually found this forum through 'chinese suhr' google search in a thread from a few years ago, which slowly developed into a ethics argument about knockoffs and copies and stuff...even pete thorn copped some shit over yaron's gibbo lp 'reproduction'...which i found hillarious...love pete, tonne of respect for him but...ya'know...tall poppie with trolls aplenty....hillarity ensues in a flash !

aaaaaaaaanyway...back to the main story...RASMUS strat....floyd and stuff...

it actualy feels like a Suhr....you know, stiff like a rock(in a good way)...when you grab a hold of it there is just no 'give' in those two pieces of wood screwed together...(anybody else noticed that or am i the only lunatic that thinks thats a legit feeling ?)

modern C neck...good frets and action...sound i cant really comment on cose i tried it on a digi line 6 but it rang on dry...

i mean...legit guitar !!! (this is where i start sounding snobby or prejudiced but i tell you im not....that much:giggle:)

...not 700USD legit !!!! ...(900CAD....1000 AUD)...10 yrs old chinese copy ! (owner studied the net...heard stories...)

FFS there are identical Ibanezes also made in china that are NEW 150 USD ! if you get a luthier to set it up for another 100$...there is still a 500$ gap to get pickups...or not if Ibz are holding on...

and suhr couldnt make enough money on it ? BS ! something else is afoot....

It’s not an apples to oranges ethics argument. A Rasmus is a Suhr, not a knockoff. They were made overseas and setup/plek’d in the US ship from what I remember.

I want to say they also had all the same hardware and pickups as US Suhr stuff?

$150 will get you a hunk-of-junk Ibanez Gio or something.

Your whole review is raving about the guitar being quality, but then when you hit the price tag you have a hold up because of where it was built. You say you aren't being snobby, but your own writing suggests that you are.

$700 these days doesn't get you the same thing $700 got you 15 years ago.

From what I remember, John wasn’t happy with the overall quality of these Guitars so they stopped production

They only made these for like two seconds. I've never seen one in person

rasmus is a suhr as much as a chinese fender(with usa pickups) is fender usa...im aware that plecking costs something thats why i included luthier setup for ibz. and im only mentioning it cose there is a model almost identical to rasmus, minus floyd...for 220 new while rasmus was something like 1100 ??? (might be wrong but not by much)

... 'brand fan boys' or BS merchants are spinning(who live off it)...

long story short: rasmus is/was NOT worth the price it commands ! ...as 'ok' of a guitar it is...:salute:
