And they both ripped
I just got back from the vintage guitar show in SC.
The Suhr was H-H with Aldrich pickups, rosewood fretboard, maple neck. Neck was super comfortable and felt as-good or better in quality than my M-II - it had the type of raw white maple that ESP is known for. It felt awsome, and i believe it was a satin finish but felt 100% natural - was New and not used. Excellent excellent guitar, played better than the fender custom shops and other Suhrs at the vintage guitar show. floyd felt comfortable and the setup was perfect, the guitar basically played itself. Alder body, it sounded and played perfect. Absolutely stunning
the Robin was the biggest surprise, i have to own one in the future!
Mahogany wings, maple top, maple neck-through with ebony fretboard. I believe it was also 24-3/4 and not 25.5" scale. That guitar just dripped tone and the neck was extremely comfortable. I have to say i am not a fan of ebony but the Robin made me a believer. It felt as good or better than the Suhr, but it was an early model bigsby-type tremelo and not Floyd type which was limited to trem-vibrato/no fine tuners/etc. which was the lacking feature, it could be converted to stop-tail but not floyd-floating. It also sounded great, way better than my 1988 Charvel.
Definitely could see owning one of each in the future. I definitely like the fatter necks of Suhr Standards.
Also saw a real echoplex from the early 70's, an original 1958 fender, and a few others misc. things. No price posted on the echoplex and i figured if i had to ask it was too much
