I have a itch to scratch with strats for some reason. I played 5-6 Mexi strats and teles today and am shocked at how good they were. The Chinese tele I played was good too. Some of the Chinese ones had two post trems that looked better than the mexi ones. Any non-USA strat/tele love here?

Just US and Custom Shop for me. Hard to beat a Mexican Fender for the price.

I have like 5 or 6 strats one custom shop, 3 American and my favorite I pick up all the time......mexi made Road worn 60's. A newer one with the less worn finish. Just an awesome guitar bone stock. Just needed a set up to my spec. Thing just sounds exactly like I want a strat to sound and plays and feels like an old friend.

I think I'm going to sell some parts that I have laying around so I can get up enough cash to consider a US model if I find one that I like. The Mexican strats I played yesterday however were all surprisingly good. Consistent too. Which is way more than I can say for some of the US Gibson stuff I pick up.

I have one of these on layaway. Been throwing down $100/month and will put it under my Xmas tree - 2 months to go. I havent strummed it or anything. Saw it hanging and said I'll take that. Im hoping its a good one.

i've got a mexi start that i picked as a b-day present for me. that was about 12 years ago. didn't care for the stock pups.. put in some replacements and have gigged it a bunch ever since.
a friend of mine picked up a japanese squire II with an h-s-s configuration. not sure exactly how old it is.. but it has to be from around the time that fender started making the squires in japan. if he ever decides to sell it i want to be the first in line. sounds great. it needs a bit of setup work for my tastes. but it's really solid.

I picked up a classic vibe tele and it totally rocks.
Never owned one before, it sounded good stock but I did a pickup swap to Dimarzio areat/hot t, and control panel swap and it sounds great.
Really surprised at the quality.

I have a US 60th anniversary, and a Mexican Kenny Wayne Shepherd signature.

Its hard to beat the signature.

I almost only play strats! I love them. Though I too really only play USA and custom shops. Im actually going to be selling a couple nice strats on here once I get more involved in the rig talk community.

I even have a 79 strat which is super smooth! thin neck.

Needless to say, Id highly recommend a strat in everyones pack!
