The little Marshall is actually cool as hell. It's the loudest one watt you'll ever hear...its easily as loud as a tweed Champ. It sounds great and has enough gain to do classic hard rock while cleaning up nicely when you roll back the guitars volume. At the full 1-watt setting, its easily loud enough to piss off the neighbors if you live in an apartment but the low power setting is pretty quiet (I didn't spend much time there). Bottom end is loose but so were the originals. I scoffed at these things when I first heard of them but they're actually a functional, useful amp. I tried it though a Marshall 4x12 and a Mesa 1x12...sounded cool with both. It would make a great recording amp and you could actually rehearse with a drummer who doesn't pound the skins too hard. I'm looking forward to the JCM.
The YJM is simply another great take on the Plexi. Sounds great for the most part although it can get a bit dark with too much attenuation. The boost is cool and functional, but it definitely sounds/feels different than the DOD peal that I thought it was supposed to mimic. If I didn't already have my Marshall tone needs covered this would be a strong contender. Great amp.
