And it crushed. Im really impressed with this guitar and as much as this pains me to say this.... It killed my Ash Bodied GMW so much so that the drummer from my band asked me to plug the Charvel back in after I switched it for the GMW lol. He noticed a huge tonal difference and so did I and to make matters even worse...even my girlfriend mentioned how the new guitar sounded better then my GMW LMAO. The GMW is great for VH type stuff but can be a bit shrill at times. The Alder body Charvel is just all around better sounding and it cuts like glass.
I have to thank Curt again for this guitar and special thanks To PsychoDave and DigitalJams for letting me hear there Charvels before I bought one from Curt!

Which pickups do you have in there? I have a SoCal and think the Tone Zone might need to be pulled for something with less low end.

I played for the first time in over a week last night and maybe it is a mind thing having the Marshall and Charvel going but damn I was at peace and was in tone heaven, it just feels right. Wait till you get some serious hours on that neck

Couple of weeks and Curt will be calling that my h/s/s is in

Thanks for the great review. One of these and a Jackson are the only guitars I have gas for...well maybe an Anderson as well ;)

What band is it Ralph? Glad to hear you like the guitar!

I currently have the Tone zone in the guitar and it most definitely is getting Yanked. I totally agree with you about the heavy bass. It was the first thing that I noticed about the Pickup. Im using an axe-fx as my live rig and I had to EQ the bass out when using the Charvel.
I actually dig the Evolution in the neck though!!

Awesome brother!! The guitar plays great right out of the box but it needs a setup. I'll more then likely get that done when I figure out what bridge pickup Im going to put in it :rawk:

Totally agree with you on the TZ brother. I know you're a Duncan guy, but if you like the Evolution in the neck, I think you'll love the EVO2 in the bridge. I had one in a Les Paul and it was killer...

Sup Bro!!

The new band is an 80's tribute with a killer female singer and the bass player from Rubix cube :D (The same girl who sings for the heart tribute ;) )

This is what my other band was suposed to be playing until management changed us to a classic rock tribute. Im still in that band but man are they slow at getting gigs because all of the guys are in multiple projects so I decided it was time for me to be in multiple bands to :D !
This band was put together quickly and so far we only had one rehearsal and we have 3 shows already booked LMAO. This is definitely more my speed so far ;)

Hope all is well bro!!

Ralph

I like the Evo in the neck as well, gets that good motorboat tone while at speed but stays tight enough for seperation. Hated the TZ and I am happy with the distortion I put in. Cleans up pretty well too while you still have some gain dialed up.

Scotty, Totally agree and that's why the Evo is staying. Ive always thought that the Dimarzios do that motorboat sound very well :D

Awesome! And good luck with the new band! I have to say, only being in one at the moment is enough for me. Multiples was getting CRAZY for a while

I was never a fan of Ash. I've been hit or miss on Alder as well though. I guess i like the basswood/maple combination.

Good luck with the new band, Ralph.

You rock the hardest anyway :D

btw: I had a look at those axes last week in a shop, they look indeed nice, loved the neck.
I don't get why they will ship the HSS with a toggle though, thats - ahem - absurd :D

I am going to install a 5 way superswitch and just use some sawdust and glue to patch the hole and match the best I can, that toogle is stupid

Charvel guys must not be Germans :D
