For modern tones I thought the Earforce Two dominated the rest. For something a little more vintage I preferred the stock JCM800 by a long shot.

Steavens sounds the best!

It was good but was boosted. Not fair.
I thought the stock 2203 was the winner.

They all were, same settings, same boost (except for the 2203 which I used a different od for)

Great riffage, and thanks for the demo! I like em all, but the Cobra and Earforce 2 are my favorites for metal.

For the style I quite enjoyed the Framus. They all sound good in the mix I bet though. 2203 was great as usual.

I liked the Framus and the Engl. And the JCM2000 was a surprise for me. Sounded great.

Cobra for me. Cool clips!

I also liked the Steavens, Uber, Savage and 800.

They all sounded pretty damn good.

Can you explain what 'same settings' means a bit more?

Also - for simplicity, I would recommend combining them all into one vid :dunno:

Good job! What speaker were you mic'ing in the Bogner cab? V30 or G12T-75?

Listening now.

Cobra sounds like a Cobra. Not too shabby. Quite aggressive. Maybe a little too much fizz for my liking.
Earforce One Retro sounds much better. Thicker, less fizzy. Authoritative. I am liking this one a lot.
Earforce Two sounds closer to the Framus. Too much sizzle for my taste.
Engl is meh. Too much gain. Too much treble. Too much of everything.
Diezel Herbert is too compressed and fizzy.
Uber is also meh. Too fizzy and very loose.
Stevens Poundcake is pretty awesome. Similar to the Earforce One. Maybe a little less hair. Very thick and has more mid bump. Amp is ugly as sin. But sounds good.
JCM900 MKIII is shit. Too much hair and presence
JCM900 SL-X is a little better. Loose as hell, like the Uber. And still too much hair on the gain
JCM2000 DSL is by far the worst of all of them. Blegh.
Stock JCM800 2203 Is pretty good. Not as much hair. Thick, bouncy mids. Nice grind. Not overly bright.

My favorites are:

1. Stevens Poundcake
2. Earforce One
3. Stock JCM800 2203 (boosted?)

And this was with me not knowing which one I was listening to. I had them playing in another window as I wrote notes.

I miked the v30.
This one doesn't have t75 anymore, I replaced them with greenbacks a while ago

I liked the ENGL for modern/smoother tone, and the Steavens for a more classic flavour.
